A new event from I Forestieri: guest Chef Lorenzo Montoro of Il Flauto di Pan (Villa Cimbrone)
I FORESTIERI
Lorenzo Montoro
The I Forestieri series welcomed chef Lorenzo Montoro to La Foresteria. Montoro heads the one-Michelin-starred restaurant Il Flauto di Pan, located in the historic Villa Cimbrone in Ravello.
For the occasion, Montoro created a five-course menu in collaboration with Chef Angelo Pumilia and his team, bringing together distinct regions and culinary perspectives united by a deep bond with Mediterranean cuisine and raw ingredients.
Montoro’s cooking stems from rural tradition and Amalfi Coast produce, maintaining a direct connection to the kitchen gardens and grounds of Villa Cimbrone. Clean and contemporary, it interprets the local terroir through research, technique, and creativity.
The tasting menu was paired with a selection of Planeta wines, curated to complement each course and establish a dialogue between Campania and Sicily.
Lorenzo Montoro
Born in Sarno in 1980, Lorenzo Montoro grew up surrounded by the flavors and produce of his family’s farm. At 17, he began his culinary career working between Paestum and Rome, later moving on to some of Campania’s most prominent establishments, including Santa Caterina in Amalfi and Rossellinis in Ravello, where he served as sous chef for four seasons.
Following a tenure at Enoteca Pinchiorri and leading Osteria Al Paese in Nocera Inferiore, he became executive chef of Il Flauto di Pan at Villa Cimbrone in Ravello in 2019.
His Mediterranean cuisine merges creativity with peasant roots, highlighting ingredients sourced largely from the villa’s organic gardens—an approach grounded in sustainability, biodiversity, and local identity.
