Overnight stays are planned between Palazzo Planeta in Palermo, a historic residence built in the early 1900s behind the palace overlooking Piazza Ignazio Florio. Casa Panitteri in Sambuca di Sicilia, recognized in 2016 as a “Borgo dei borghi”. Foresteria Planeta, a wine resort nestled in the harmony of vineyards and olive groves in the Menfi countryside. Tenuta Dorilli di Vittoria, created from the renovation of an old winery. Case Sparse, nestled in the Buonivini vineyards of Noto.

Palermo - Sambuca di Sicilia - Menfi (110km)

  • Departure for the center of Palermo.

  • Departure for Cantina Ulmo (60 minutes from Palermo).
  • Guided tour of the vineyards and the cellar, followed by private aperitif and lunch in the main hall of the “Baglio”. Recipes are prepared with seasonal ingredients in the traditional, genuine, and refined style of Sicilian families.

  • Departure for La Foresteria Planeta.

  • Arrival at La Foresteria (30 minutes from Ulmo), welcome by the Hospitality Manager and check-in.

  • Gourmet dinner designed by Chef Angelo Pumilia with wine pairing.
  • Overnight stay at La Foresteria Planeta.

Day 3

Menfi - Palermo (80km)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Cooking class “The cuisine of Casa Planeta”: practical cooking lesson “Planeta’s Recipes” with Chef Angelo Pumilia.
    The course consists of a theoretical part explaining the use of ingredients, their availability, the history of recipes, and a practical part during which 5 recipes are prepared directly by participants under the chef’s supervision.
    The lesson is followed by lunch created with the recipes prepared during the lesson, including 2 selected wines.
  • After lunch, late check-out and departure for Palermo Airport.

Taormina - Etna (40km)

  • Departure for Mount Etna (45 minutes from Taormina) and transfer to the Planeta Sciaranuova estates.

  • Arrival at Sciaranuova and welcome by the hospitality manager.
    Guests will walk through the Carricante and Nerello Mascalese vineyards to the ancient Palmento.
  • Aperitif and lunch paired with old vintages of Etna wines.

  • Return to the hotel in Taormina.
  • Afternoon: Free time to visit the archaeological site and the Greek theater of Taormina with an expert guide (guests can attend a show, subject to availability during the stay dates), not included.
